Frequently asked questions

We’ve answered the most common questions about starting a career in Marketing.

Depending on the role, you may need specific qualifications or prior experience. However, not every position requires this. What matters most is your creativity, willingness to learn and passion for marketing. Our L&D team offer on-the-job training and online courses to help you build the skills needed to succeed.

Some of the most important skills are creativity, communication and analytical thinking. It’s about crafting messages that really connect with your audience and understanding how your campaigns are performing.

A typical day in marketing is fast-paced, varied and creative. You might start by checking how campaigns are performing, replying to emails and reviewing content or designs scheduled to go live. From there, your day could include writing copy, creating marketing materials, or coordinating with photographers.

You’ll work closely with our regional teams to make sure their messaging is clear, consistent and delivered to a high standard. No two days are ever quite the same - being organised, adaptable and creative helps you stay on top of deadlines and produce campaigns that really deliver.

The tools you’ll use depend on your specific role, but common ones include social media platforms, email marketing software, content management systems (CMS), analytics tools like Google Analytics and design programs such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.

We’re committed to helping our people grow. Whether it’s through structured learning and development programmes or mentoring, we provide the support colleagues need to progress in their careers.
